The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about learning by doing. Over five dives, you’ll explore new dive types and refine essential skills. We tailor the course to suit your interests and the spectacular underwater sites of southern Sri Lanka.
Core Adventure Dives:
- Deep Dive (to 30m) – Experience how depth affects your body and equipment, learn about nitrogen narcosis, and explore deeper reefs and marine life including reef fish, turtles, and blacktip reef sharks.
- Underwater Navigation – Hone your compass skills, estimate distances, and navigate confidently — essential for safe and independent diving.
Optional Adventure Dives (Choose 3):
- Wreck Dive – Explore local shipwrecks and practice safe wreck diving techniques.
- Night Dive – Witness the underwater world after sunset, with torches illuminating nocturnal marine life.
- Peak Performance Buoyancy – Perfect your trim, buoyancy control, and finning efficiency.
- Search & Recovery – Learn search patterns and safely lift objects using lift bags.
- Drift Dive – Experience natural currents and master drift diving techniques.
- Fish Identification – Identify reef species and understand their behavior.
- Boat Dive – Practice entry, exit, and dive planning from different boats.
- Enriched Air (Nitrox) Dive – Extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen exposure (small extra charge).
- Underwater Naturalist – Explore marine ecosystems and symbiotic relationships.
- Multilevel & Computer Diving – Learn to plan multilevel dives using dive computers.
